How do I configure iFSG when integrating Symantec Enterprise Vault version 8.0?

For Enterprise Vault 8.0 (Service Pack 2 or later) iCAS has to run with a special EV mode turned on. Note: For Enterprise Vault 9.0 and later this mode is not needed and is turned off by default.
To set the EV mode, you can use Windows Explorer or a command prompt. Navigate to the iTernity install path, by default C:\Program Files\ iTernity. Open the file C:\Program Files\ iTernity\iServer\bin either by double-clicking on the file from Windows Explorer or by typing the name in the command prompt (from the bin directory) and hitting return.
At the bottom (above the line </appSettings>), add the following line:
<add key=”EVMode” value=”on” />

You will have to restart the iFSG service for the change to take effect. See below for details. You can do this from the iAdmin application. iAdmin is located in C:\Program Files\iTernity\iAdmin\iAdmin.exe. To restart the service, you have to log in to iAdmin with a valid PIN. Then execute “Action->Restart->iFSG.
